Ch Kwetu's Pocket Full of Promise, ROM

This is PB--short for Patriot's Baby! He was BOS in the 52nd RRCUS National Specialty Show in Chagrin Falls, OH in 1983. PB was always the connsumate show dog--he always loved to be in the ring struttin' his stuff --PB was even owner/breeder/handled to an all-breed Best in Show at the age of 6 1/2, an age when most show dogs stay at home on the couch! He was brought out of retirement to compete under Judge Dave Helgesen, a Breeder Judge from Canada, who gave him both Best of Breed and the Group win, and Judge Tom Horner from England gave him the Best in Show.
I
have often mentioned that I breed according to the Standard. PB was
only 26" tall, and proved again and again that a moderate,
correctly-sized RR could do well in the ring! As she handed me the
coveted purple and gold ribbon, a judge once told me "I usually like
them bigger, but he is so correct!"
He also excelled as a stud. PB sired Ch Kwetu's
Luke Blackburn, who outdid his father in the BIS category--9
all-breed Best in shows to his credit--a record that stood for many
years! He also sired Ch Sheena of Fairview, a livernosed bitch with
an all breed BIS to her credit, and Ch. Mine Creek's Pay Dirt
("Digger") who has 4 all breed BIS. Digger finished his Championship
in style, by going from the Puppy Class, to Best of Breed, through
the Group placements all the way to Best in Show. He is also the sire
of Ch Kwetu's Bonnie Scotland, ROM and Ch Belmont Lady, ROM. His good
looks and temperament, and zest for life have passed down through the
generations of his children and grandchildren.
PB is the Number Two Producing Stud in the US, second only to his own father, Ch Rutan Mpenzi Rafiki of Gera ROM!
